Castles & History
To think of Wales is to think of castles, and our little slice of heaven has its own fair share. From traditional medieval fortresses such as Conwy Castle and Rhuddlan Castle to the more elegant example of Gwrych Castle, the home of 2020's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
Countryside walks
Coast & Country right from your pod. A range of walks right on the doorstep including the Wales Coast Path, & Offa's Dyke, or go off piste & enjoy the various other rights of way.
Cycling
There are many routes available right from our doorstep as we sit right on National Cycle Route 5, plus there are many further byways to get right into the heart of the countryside.
So either bring a bike or rent one from near Rhyl Harbour to really get about.
Fishing
Obviously with the sea so close, fishing is readily available, and Sea Angling boat trips are available from Rhyl Harbour, but if specimen fishing is more your thing, then Gyrn Castle, just 5 minutes up the road is ideal.
This exclusive fishery benefits from really fantastic fishing from five designated pegs on the top lake. The lakes have a variety of depths ranging from 2ft to 10ft with a stream running in one end and a dam at the other.
The Great Orme Mines
Take a trip through time at Llandudno’s world famous Bronze Age mine.
Explore the 3,500 year old passageways leading to the amazing prehistoric cavern
Walk the ancient surface landscape and see the 4,00 year old Opencast mine
In the Visitor Centre discover how people lived, mined and turned ore into metal during the Bronze Age

Watersports
Fancy something a bit more exciting?
Maybe kite surfing, or the UK's favourite new sport, paddleboarding could be for you?
PKS watersports, based in Rhyl (7 miles away) offer lessons in both Kite surfing and stand up paddleboarding, and if you really get into it, also offer a range of watersports equipment for sale.
Welsh Mountain Zoo
Half an hour from our doors, you'll find yourself at the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn bay, 37 acres of lush mountain side, housing over 140 species, including Snow leopards, Chimpanzee's, Red Pandas, Penguins, and many more.
The Eagle & Child
Gwaenysgor
A great manicured beer garden, A cosy bar & restaurant, all surrounded by an outstanding area of natural beauty.
3.2 miles by car or a 2.8 mile trail walk from the Coppice.
If planning to eat, remember to Check the restaurant times before setting out.
To the Eagle & Child
2.8 miles of mainly countryside rights of way, all the way to the pub!
Walk over the northern edge of the Clwydian Range national landscape. Lots of options to head off in different directions along the trail, but follow it to its end and you'll arrive at the Eagle & Child for a well earned drink
To Offa's Dyke
A similar route to the Eagle & Child trail, so you can still drop in for a jar, but carry on a little further to link up with the historic Offa's dyke national trail.
